Job Description

Latvijas Banka is seeking a Junior Legal Advisor to support the supervision of payment service providers and electronic money institutions. This role is based at the Jelgava regional office and involves reviewing license applications and monitoring ongoing compliance.

Responsibilities

Review license applications from payment service providers and e-money institutions. Monitor compliance with PSD2 requirements and strong customer authentication standards. Assist with the preparation of supervisory decisions and regulatory guidance. Analyze fintech business models for regulatory classification purposes.

Requirements

Master's degree in law. 1-2 years of experience in financial law or regulatory affairs. Knowledge of the Payment Services and Electronic Money Law and PSD2 requirements. Analytical skills and attention to regulatory detail. Fluent in Latvian and English.
