Job Description

Juriste en Propriété Intellectuelle et Nouvelles Technologies — Saint-Louis Juridique

Saint-Louis Juridique is hiring a Juriste specializing in intellectual property and technology law to join its Isoraka office in Antananarivo. As Madagascar's digital economy expands rapidly, businesses need expert counsel on trademark protection, software licensing, data privacy, and e-commerce regulations. This role places you at the cutting edge of Malagasy IP and tech law practice.

You will manage trademark and patent registrations at OMAPI (Office Malgache de la Propriété Industrielle), advise clients on copyright protection, and handle IP infringement disputes. The technology law component involves counseling startups and established businesses on data protection compliance, digital contract frameworks, and mobile money regulatory issues under the oversight of ARTEC.

Responsibilities

  • Manage trademark, patent, and industrial design registrations at OMAPI
  • Advise clients on copyright protection for software, creative works, and digital content
  • Handle IP infringement disputes and enforcement actions
  • Counsel technology companies and startups on data protection and privacy compliance
  • Draft software licensing agreements, SaaS contracts, and technology partnership agreements
  • Monitor regulatory developments in digital commerce and telecommunications law
  • Advise on mobile money and fintech regulatory compliance under ARTEC guidelines

Requirements

  • Master's degree in intellectual property law or technology law
  • 3-5 years of experience in IP law, technology law, or a combination
  • Knowledge of Madagascar's IP legislation and OMAPI registration procedures
  • Understanding of OAPI (Organisation Africaine de la Propriété Intellectuelle) and international IP treaties
  • Familiarity with data protection frameworks and digital commerce regulations
  • Fluency in French; English and Malagasy proficiency preferred
