Job Description

Vattenfall is seeking a Legal Counsel for its Group Legal — Energy Markets team at Evenemangsgatan 13 in Solna, Stockholm. You will advise on Swedish and EU energy regulation, renewable energy projects, and sustainability compliance as Vattenfall drives the Nordic energy transition toward fossil-free living within one generation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Advise on ellagen (Electricity Act) compliance and Energimarknadsinspektionen (Ei — Energy Markets Inspectorate) regulatory engagement
  • Handle environmental permits under miljöbalken (Environmental Code) for wind, hydro, and nuclear facilities
  • Draft and negotiate power purchase agreements (PPAs) and energy trading agreements
  • Advise on EU Emissions Trading System (EU ETS), EU Taxonomy Regulation, and Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) compliance

Requirements

  • Swedish juristexamen; 3-6 years PQE in energy, environmental, or regulatory law
  • Knowledge of ellagen, miljöbalken, and EU energy/climate regulation
  • Experience with renewable energy projects or energy trading preferred
  • Fluent in Swedish and English
