Job Description
Slovenská sporiteľňa, the largest retail bank in Slovakia and member of Erste Group, is seeking a Legal Counsel for its Retail Banking division in Bratislava. You will provide legal support for consumer lending products, mortgage documentation, and deposit agreements in compliance with Slovak banking law and NBS regulations.
The role involves ensuring compliance with the Zákon o spotrebiteľských úveroch (Consumer Credit Act) and managing litigation before Slovak courts and the NBS. As an Erste Group subsidiary operating in the Eurozone, Slovenská sporiteľňa offers exposure to both Slovak and EU banking regulation.
Responsibilities
Draft and review retail banking product documentation including loan and mortgage agreements. Ensure compliance with the Consumer Credit Act and NBS requirements. Handle disputes before Slovak courts and the banking ombudsman. Advise on AML/KYC obligations under Slovak and EU anti-money laundering legislation. Support digital banking product launches and regulatory approvals. Coordinate with Erste Group legal team on group-wide compliance projects.
Requirements
Slovak law degree (Mgr.) with 3-5 years of banking or consumer finance legal experience. Knowledge of Slovak consumer credit regulations, Občiansky zákonník, and NBS regulatory framework. Experience with AML compliance and banking litigation preferred. Fluent Slovak and English.
