Job Description

The Commission for Protection of Competition (KZK) is recruiting a Legal Expert for its Antitrust Investigations Directorate. The role involves investigating anticompetitive agreements, abuse of dominance, and conducting merger control assessments. KZK offers a unique opportunity to work at the forefront of Bulgarian competition enforcement with direct impact on market fairness and consumer welfare.

Responsibilities

Conducting investigations into cartels, bid-rigging, and anticompetitive agreements; Analyzing merger notifications and preparing assessment reports; Investigating complaints of abuse of dominant market position; Drafting decisions, statements of objections, and commitments proposals; Preparing sector inquiries and market studies; Coordinating with the European Commission and ECN (European Competition Network); Representing KZK in court proceedings and judicial reviews of competition decisions.

Requirements

Master's degree in Law; 3-5 years of experience in competition law, regulatory affairs, or public administration; Knowledge of the Protection of Competition Act and EU competition regulations (Articles 101-102 TFEU, Regulation 139/2004); Understanding of economic analysis methods used in competition assessments; Experience with administrative proceedings and investigation procedures; Fluent Bulgarian and English; Analytical skills and integrity; Bulgarian citizenship required.
