Job Description
The Central Bank of Jordan on King Hussein Street in downtown Amman is seeking a Legal Officer to join its Legal Department. You will assist in drafting banking regulations, reviewing license applications from financial institutions, and providing legal advice on the enforcement of the Central Bank of Jordan Law No. 23 of 1971 and related banking legislation.
Key Responsibilities
- Draft and review proposed banking regulations and circulars
- Advise on licensing applications from banks and financial institutions
- Prepare legal opinions on regulatory enforcement actions
- Review compliance of banks with capital adequacy and governance requirements
- Represent the CBJ in legal proceedings and before international financial bodies
Requirements
- LLB from a recognised Jordanian university
- Admitted to the Jordan Bar Association
- 3-5 years PQE in banking law, regulatory affairs, or government legal services
- Knowledge of Basel III framework and international banking standards
- Arabic and English bilingual
Responsibilities
