Job Description

Litigation Advocate — Commercial Disputes

Sultan Al-Abdulla & Partners is seeking an experienced Litigation Advocate to join our dispute resolution team in Doha's West Bay district. You will represent clients before all levels of the Qatar court system, handling complex commercial disputes, debt recovery, and enforcement proceedings under Qatar's Civil and Commercial Procedure Code.

Key Responsibilities

  • Represent clients before the Qatar Court of First Instance, Court of Appeal, and Court of Cassation in commercial disputes
  • Draft legal memoranda, statements of claim, and pleadings in Arabic and English
  • Handle debt recovery and enforcement proceedings including property attachments and travel bans
  • Advise on commercial agency disputes under Qatar's Commercial Agents Law (Law No. 8 of 2002)
  • Manage urgent applications for interim relief and injunctions before Qatar courts
  • Coordinate with expert witnesses and forensic accountants on complex valuation disputes

Responsibilities

  • Lead litigation strategy for complex commercial disputes
  • Supervise junior advocates and support staff
  • Maintain client relationships and provide regular case updates
  • Coordinate with the firm's arbitration team on matters referred to QICDRC
  • Contribute to the firm's knowledge management and precedent library

Requirements

  • Licensed to practice before Qatar courts with rights of audience at all levels
  • 7+ years of litigation experience in Qatar or the GCC
  • Native or near-native Arabic speaker with excellent English language skills
  • Strong knowledge of Qatar Civil and Commercial Procedure Code (Law No. 13 of 1990)
  • Experience with real estate, construction, and commercial disputes preferred
  • Proven track record of handling disputes valued at QAR 10 million or above
