Job Description

Real Estate Lawyer

Sultan Al-Abdulla & Partners is hiring a Real Estate Lawyer to join our property and conveyancing team in Doha. Qatar's real estate market continues to expand with major developments at The Pearl-Qatar, Lusail City, and Gewan Island. You will advise on property acquisitions, leasing, and development agreements across Qatar's freehold and leasehold zones.

Key Responsibilities

  • Advise on freehold and leasehold property transactions in Qatar's designated investment zones under Law No. 16 of 2018
  • Draft and negotiate sale and purchase agreements, lease contracts, and off-plan development agreements
  • Handle property registration with the Ministry of Justice's Real Estate Registration Department
  • Advise investors on ownership structures for properties in The Pearl-Qatar and Lusail
  • Handle landlord-tenant disputes under Qatar's Rental Law (Law No. 4 of 2008)
  • Advise on strata title arrangements and building management for mixed-use developments

Responsibilities

  • Manage a portfolio of real estate transactions from instruction to completion
  • Conduct title searches and property due diligence
  • Advise on real estate financing structures and mortgage registration
  • Liaise with the Ministry of Justice and municipal authorities on property matters
  • Prepare legal opinions on foreign ownership restrictions in Qatar

Requirements

  • 3-6 years PQE in real estate law with GCC or Qatar market experience
  • Knowledge of Qatar's property ownership framework for non-Qatari nationals
  • Experience with off-plan sales and development agreements
  • Licensed to practice in Qatar or qualified in a common law jurisdiction
  • Fluency in English required; Arabic language skills highly desirable
  • Strong conveyancing and contract drafting skills
