Job Description

CMS Zagreb is expanding its Adriatic practice and seeks a Maritime & Shipping Lawyer based in Split to advise on vessel financing, port concessions, cargo disputes, and maritime regulatory compliance under Croatian Maritime Code and international conventions.

Responsibilities

Advise shipowners, charterers, and port authorities on maritime commercial disputes. Draft and negotiate charterparty agreements, bills of lading, and ship sale contracts. Handle marine insurance claims and P&I matters. Represent clients in maritime arbitration proceedings. Advise on port concession agreements and coastal zone permits.

Requirements

Croatian law degree and Bar admission. 3-5 years of experience in maritime, shipping, or transport law. Knowledge of Croatian Maritime Code, UNCLOS, and EU port services regulation. Fluent in Croatian and English; Italian is a plus. Willingness to be based in Split with travel to Zagreb.
