Mining and Natural Resources Associate — BNG Legal Myanmar

BNG Legal is recruiting a Mining and Natural Resources Associate for our Mandalay office on 78th Street. This role is central to our practice advising on gem mining licenses, jade extraction permits, and mineral exploration rights in Upper Myanmar.

You will work on mining concession agreements under the Myanmar Mines Law 2015, advise on environmental compliance for mining operations under the Environmental Conservation Law 2012, and handle land use disputes related to mining activities. The position also involves advising on export regulations for gems and precious minerals through the Myanmar Gems Enterprise.

• Advise on mining license applications and concession agreements
• Handle environmental compliance for mining operations
• Draft mining joint venture and production sharing agreements
• Represent clients in land use disputes related to mining activities
• Advise on gem and mineral export regulations and licensing
• Conduct legal due diligence on mining assets and concessions

• Qualified Advocate registered with the Myanmar Bar Council
• 2-4 years of mining, natural resources, or environmental law experience
• Knowledge of Myanmar Mines Law 2015 and Mines Rules 2018
• Understanding of environmental impact assessment requirements
• Experience with land use and property disputes
• Familiarity with Myanmar Gems Enterprise regulations
• Willingness to travel to mining sites in Upper Myanmar
