Senior Associate — Dispute Resolution

About the Role

Clyde & Co, the only international law firm with a full-service office in Kenya, is seeking a Senior Associate for its dispute resolution practice in Nairobi. The firm advises clients across East Africa on commercial litigation, international arbitration, insurance disputes, construction disputes, and alternative dispute resolution.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and advise clients on commercial litigation matters across multiple industry sectors
• Handle international and domestic arbitration proceedings
• Advise on insurance disputes, construction disputes, and employment disputes
• Provide strategic legal counsel on dispute resolution and defence work
• Support corporate and commercial transactions with dispute-related advisory
• Engage with the firm's global network to deliver cross-border dispute resolution services
• Mentor junior associates and trainees in the dispute resolution department
• Draft pleadings, legal opinions, and case strategies

• Manage commercial litigation matters
• Handle international and domestic arbitration
• Advise on insurance and construction disputes
• Provide strategic dispute resolution counsel
• Support corporate transactions with dispute advisory
• Deliver cross-border dispute resolution services
• Mentor junior associates and trainees
• Draft pleadings and legal opinions

• Advocate of the High Court of Kenya with a valid practicing certificate
• 5-8 years of significant post-qualification experience in dispute resolution at a reputable law firm
• Strong background in commercial litigation and/or international arbitration
• Experience handling insurance, construction, or employment disputes is desirable
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple matters simultaneously and work to deadlines
