Senior Associate – Private Equity
Kim & Chang is hiring a Senior Associate for its Private Equity & Funds practice in Seoul's Jongno-gu district. With Korea's PE market exceeding $50 billion in AUM, you will advise global and domestic PE sponsors on leveraged buyouts, growth investments, and fund formation, benefiting from Kim & Chang's premium compensation structure — the highest in the Korean legal market.
Key Responsibilities
- Advise private equity funds on leveraged buyouts, minority investments, and exits involving Korean portfolio companies
- Draft and negotiate limited partnership agreements, side letters, and fund formation documents under Korean 상법 and Financial Investment Services Act
- Structure co-investment vehicles and feeder funds for Korean institutional investors (NPS, KIC, pension funds)
- Handle KFTC merger control filings and foreign investment notifications for PE acquisitions
- Support portfolio companies on corporate governance, add-on acquisitions, and IPO preparations
Requirements
- Korean 변호사 licence with 6-10 years of private equity, M&A, or funds experience
- Track record on PE transactions exceeding ₩100 billion
- Familiarity with Korean financial regulations governing alternative investments
- Native-level English and Korean; NY or England & Wales bar admission preferred
