Senior Corporate Lawyer — M&A and Joint Ventures
Al Tamimi & Company's Doha office in the West Bay district is seeking a Senior Corporate Lawyer to join our market-leading corporate practice. You will advise on complex M&A transactions, joint ventures, and corporate restructurings across Qatar and the GCC, with a particular focus on deals linked to Qatar Vision 2030 economic diversification.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead M&A transactions including due diligence, share purchase agreement drafting, and post-closing integration
- Advise on joint venture structures and shareholders' agreements under the Qatar Commercial Companies Law (Law No. 11 of 2015)
- Structure foreign investment transactions in compliance with Qatar's Foreign Investment Law (Law No. 1 of 2019)
- Advise QFC-registered entities on QFC Company Regulations and corporate governance
- Coordinate cross-border transactions with Al Tamimi offices across the GCC region
About This Role
Based in our West Bay office overlooking the Doha Corniche, you will work on high-value transactions for Qatari sovereign entities, multinational corporations, and family conglomerates. The role offers direct exposure to Qatar's rapidly evolving commercial landscape.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a portfolio of corporate and M&A mandates
- Supervise and mentor junior associates and trainees
- Develop client relationships and contribute to business development in Qatar
- Prepare legal opinions on Qatari corporate law matters
- Liaise with Qatar Ministry of Commerce and Industry on regulatory filings
Requirements
- Qualified lawyer with 7+ years PQE in corporate and M&A law
- Admission to practice in a common law jurisdiction (England & Wales, Australia, or equivalent)
- Strong experience with GCC or Middle Eastern corporate transactions
- Knowledge of Qatar Commercial Companies Law (Law No. 11 of 2015) and QFC regulations
- Fluency in English required; Arabic language skills highly desirable
- Track record of managing complex cross-border deals independently
