Brunei LNG Sdn Bhd, one of the world's longest-running LNG producers, is seeking a Senior LNG Legal Counsel for its headquarters in Kuala Belait. The role involves managing the legal aspects of Brunei LNG's long-term supply contracts, shipping arrangements, and plant operations, supporting the company's continued export of LNG to customers in Japan and South Korea.

Key Responsibilities

• Draft, negotiate, and manage long-term LNG sale and purchase agreements (SPAs) with international offtakers
• Advise on LNG shipping contracts, time charter parties, and voyage charter arrangements
• Handle joint venture governance matters between the Brunei government, Shell, and Mitsubishi
• Manage HSE and environmental regulatory compliance for the Lumut LNG plant
• Advise on employment law matters under the Employment Order 2009 for the company's workforce
• Coordinate with external counsel on international dispute resolution and arbitration

• Lead the legal function for Brunei LNG's commercial operations
• Manage long-term LNG supply agreements and shipping contracts
• Provide strategic legal advice to the management team

• Qualified lawyer admitted in Brunei, Malaysia, UK, Australia, or Singapore
• 8-15 years of experience in energy law, LNG transactions, or international commercial law
• Law degree from a recognised university; LLM in Energy, Maritime, or International Law preferred
• Experience with LNG SPAs, shipping contracts, and joint venture agreements
• Understanding of Brunei's petroleum and energy regulatory environment
• Fluent in English; Malay and Japanese language skills are advantageous
