Compliance Officer — Legal & Regulatory at Brunei LNG

Brunei LNG Sdn Bhd is seeking a Compliance Officer for its Kuala Belait office. The role involves managing regulatory compliance across the company's LNG production, export, and shipping operations, ensuring adherence to Brunei's environmental, safety, and corporate governance standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain the company's compliance framework covering environmental, HSE, and corporate governance requirements
• Monitor compliance with the Environmental Protection and Management Order 2016 and the Workplace Safety and Health Order 2009
• Manage anti-corruption and anti-bribery compliance in line with Shell's global standards and Brunei law
• Handle regulatory reporting and filings with the Department of Energy and Ministry of Development
• Conduct internal compliance audits and investigations
• Train staff on compliance policies, ethics, and anti-money laundering obligations

• Manage the company's regulatory compliance programme
• Conduct compliance audits and investigations
• Ensure adherence to environmental and safety regulations

• Law degree or degree in compliance, governance, or a related field
• 4-8 years of experience in compliance, regulatory affairs, or legal advisory in the energy sector
• Knowledge of Brunei's environmental and safety legislation
• Experience with anti-corruption compliance frameworks (Shell standards, FCPA, UK Bribery Act)
• Strong analytical and reporting skills
• Fluent in English; Malay is an advantage
