Brunei LNG Sdn Bhd is one of the world's longest-running liquefied natural gas producers, operating a major LNG plant in Lumut, Belait District. A joint venture between the Brunei government, Shell, and Mitsubishi, Brunei LNG has been exporting LNG since 1972, primarily to Japan and South Korea. The company's legal department manages long-term supply contracts, shipping agreements, joint venture governance, HSE regulatory compliance, and employment law matters. Brunei LNG's in-house lawyers work closely with the Department of Energy and the Ministry of Finance on regulatory and commercial matters. The company is headquartered in Kuala Belait and is one of the largest private-sector employers in Brunei.
