Job Description

Galindo Arias & López (GALA) seeks a senior attorney to lead the firm's ship registration and flag state practice. Panama is the world's largest ship registry by gross tonnage, and this role places you at the heart of international maritime commerce, advising on vessel registration, flag state compliance, and regulatory matters under the Autoridad Marítima de Panamá (AMP).

Responsibilities

Advise shipowners on vessel registration under the Panamanian flag. Coordinate with the Autoridad Marítima de Panamá on compliance issues. Handle flag state inspections, detentions, and Port State Control responses. Draft and review bareboat charter registrations. Represent clients in maritime administrative proceedings.

Requirements

Licenciatura en Derecho. Colegio Nacional de Abogados de Panamá membership. 7+ years of experience in maritime regulatory work or ship registration. Expert knowledge of the Ley de Marina Mercante and AMP regulations. Bilingual Spanish/English required.
