Pinsent Masons' Doha office is seeking a Technology & IP Lawyer to advise on intellectual property protection, technology transactions, and data privacy matters in Qatar. As Qatar invests heavily in digital transformation, smart city technologies, and the knowledge economy under Qatar Vision 2030, there is growing demand for legal expertise at the intersection of technology and law.

Key Responsibilities

• Advise on IP protection strategies including trademark registration, patent filing, and copyright enforcement in Qatar
• Draft and negotiate technology licensing agreements, SaaS contracts, and IT outsourcing deals
• Advise on data privacy and protection under Qatar's Data Protection Law (Law No. 13 of 2016)
• Handle IP disputes including trademark infringement and trade secret misappropriation before Qatar courts
• Advise on fintech and regtech regulatory requirements within the QFC
• Support smart city technology procurement for Lusail and other Vision 2030 projects

• Manage IP portfolio protection for clients across Qatar
• Draft data processing agreements and privacy policies compliant with Qatari law
• Advise on e-commerce regulations and digital signature requirements
• Represent clients in IP disputes before Qatar's IP courts
• Contribute thought leadership on Qatar's emerging tech law landscape

• 4-6 years PQE in technology, IP, or data privacy law
• Knowledge of Qatar's IP legislation including the Trademarks Law and Patents Law
• Experience with technology transactions and licensing agreements
• Familiarity with Qatar's Data Protection Law (Law No. 13 of 2016)
• Qualified in a common law or civil law jurisdiction
• Fluent English essential; Arabic beneficial
