Position Overview
Job Description
The CMF is recruiting a mid-level Securities & Insurance Regulation associate for its Valparaiso office. Valparaiso, as the seat of the Congreso Nacional and a centre of Chile's financial regulatory history, hosts a CMF satellite office handling securities market surveillance, insurance company supervision, and regional regulatory coordination.
The role involves monitoring compliance with the Ley del Mercado de Valores (Ley 18.045), supervising insurance companies under DFL 251 (Ley de Seguros), and reviewing continuous disclosure obligations of issuers listed on the Bolsa de Santiago. Chile's growing ESG disclosure requirements and fintech regulatory framework add dynamism to the role.
Responsibilities
- Monitoring listed company compliance with continuous disclosure obligations under Ley 18.045
- Reviewing insurance company solvency and regulatory compliance under DFL 251
- Investigating potential insider trading and market manipulation cases
- Preparing administrative sanctions proceedings for securities law violations
- Contributing to ESG disclosure regulation development and fintech regulatory framework
Requirements
- Licenciatura en Ciencias Juridicas and juramento ante la Corte Suprema
- 3-6 years of experience in securities regulation, insurance law, or capital markets
- Knowledge of Ley 18.045 (Ley del Mercado de Valores), DFL 251 (Ley de Seguros), and CMF normativa
- Understanding of continuous disclosure obligations, insider trading rules, and market manipulation
- Experience with administrative proceedings and regulatory enforcement
- English proficiency for IOSCO and international regulatory coordination
