Associate — Data Privacy & Intellectual Property

Tigo Guatemala is seeking an Associate for its Data Privacy and Intellectual Property practice in Guatemala City. You will advise on data protection compliance, trademark portfolio management, and technology licensing for Tigo's digital and telecommunications operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement data privacy policies and consent frameworks
• Manage Tigo's trademark portfolio and brand protection across Central America
• Draft technology licensing agreements, SaaS contracts, and digital content deals
• Advise on e-commerce regulations and digital payment compliance
• Handle IP infringement matters and domain name disputes

• Manage data privacy compliance across Tigo's Guatemalan operations
• Coordinate trademark filings with the Registro de la Propiedad Intelectual
• Review marketing materials and brand usage for IP compliance
• Support the legal team on digital transformation projects

• Licenciatura en Ciencias Juridicas y Sociales from a recognised university
• Colegiado activo with the Colegio de Abogados y Notarios de Guatemala
• 3-5 years experience in IP, technology, or data privacy law
• Fluent in Spanish and English
• CIPP/LA or similar privacy certification preferred
