This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Compliance Engineer based in Germany.
As a Compliance Engineer, you will help bridge the gap between regulatory expertise and technology by supporting compliance and licensing initiatives in a fast-evolving digital environment. You will transform complex regulatory requirements into practical guidance, client-ready deliverables, and scalable workflows while ensuring the quality and accuracy of AI-assisted compliance outputs. Working closely with engineering, legal, and commercial teams, you will contribute to the development of efficient compliance processes and reusable knowledge assets. This role combines regulatory analysis, technical collaboration, and project coordination, making it ideal for professionals who enjoy solving complex compliance challenges. You'll have the opportunity to influence innovative compliance solutions while working in a collaborative, international, and fully remote environment.
Accountabilities
- Analyze regulatory frameworks, licensing requirements, and compliance obligations across multiple jurisdictions.
- Support regulatory readiness and licensing projects from initial scoping through gap analysis, evidence collection, policy review, application preparation, and remediation tracking.
- Perform first-line reviews of AI-generated compliance outputs to ensure regulatory accuracy, source traceability, supporting evidence, and client readiness.
- Translate complex regulatory requests into structured compliance analyses, reports, presentations, and client deliverables.
- Develop compliance guidance, evidence checklists, regulatory mappings, submission documentation, and licensing support materials.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to create reusable compliance templates, review rules, structured workflows, evaluation cases, and regulatory knowledge assets.
- Escalate high-risk regulatory interpretations or legal matters to senior compliance specialists or legal advisors when appropriate.
- Support cross-functional teams by delivering practical compliance solutions while maintaining high standards of quality and accuracy.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in compliance, regulatory consulting, digital assets, fintech, financial services, compliance auditing, legal services, or a related field.
- Hands-on experience supporting at least one licensing application, regulatory registration, or end-to-end regulatory readiness project.
- Strong understanding of regulatory analysis, licensing documentation, evidence review, and compliance frameworks.
- Ability to produce clear documentation, regulatory mappings, reports, presentations, and client-facing deliverables.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality work under changing requirements.
- Professional proficiency in written and spoken English; Chinese language skills are considered an advantage but are not required.
- Familiarity with digital asset regulations, virtual asset service provider (VASP) licensing, or similar regulatory frameworks is preferred.
- Basic understanding of large language models (LLMs), AI limitations, hallucination risks, source traceability, and human-in-the-loop validation processes.
- Must be eligible to work remotely outside the United States.
