Compliance Manager - Data Centre Construction

Turner & Townsend are leaders in professional services to the Data Centre sector globally. Due to the continued success and expansion of our Data Centre business in the Nordics area we are currently recruiting for an experienced Compliance Manager to join our Data Centre team in the north of Finland. 

In this position, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that all parties on our data center construction project adhere to all relevant regulations, standards, and industry best practices. Your primary responsibility will be to oversee and manage compliance activities throughout the project lifecycle. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, external stakeholders, and regulatory bodies to ensure that all aspects of the construction project align with legal and compliance requirements.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement a comprehensive compliance framework tailored to Finnish construction legislations, such as Land Use Act & Building Act, Occupational Safety and Health requirements, Environmental regulations, and Contractor compliance obligations.
• Monitor and assess project activities to identify potential compliance risks and recommend appropriate mitigation measures.
• Collaborate with project teams to ensure compliance with relevant local, national, and international regulations, codes, and standards.
• Conduct regular audits and inspections to verify compliance with internal policies and procedures.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for regulatory agencies and ensure timely and accurate reporting as required.
• Provide guidance and training to project staff on compliance-related matters.
• Stay updated on industry trends, regulatory changes, and emerging best practices to ensure continuous compliance improvement.

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, or a related field. Advanced degree or relevant certifications are a plus.
• Proven experience as a Compliance Manager or similar role in the construction industry, preferably within data center projects.
• A deep understanding of Finnish regulatory frameworks, construction regulations, codes, and standards.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess risks and implement effective solutions.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
• Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and documentation skills.
• Fluent English and Finnish language skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Availability for on-site work.
