THE DIFFERENCE YOU MAKE
Santander Corporate & Investment Banking is looking for a Compliance Associate based out of Frankfurt.
We’re shaping the way we work through innovation, cutting-edge technology, collaboration and the freedom to explore new ideas. To succeed in this role, you will be responsible for supporting the Chief Compliance Officer (CCO) and wider Compliance team in managing the regulatory risk framework, including regulations relating to Market Abuse Regulation (MAR), Markets in Financial Instruments Directive (MiFID), Conduct, Reputational Risk as well as other applicable regulations. This will include:
Providing advice and recommendations on complex regulatory risk escalations (relating to clients, products and transactions) from the first or second line of defence
Ensuring that policies and guidance align with global documents, as well as current legal and regulatory requirements and expectations
Providing guidance and training to the first line of defence on the implementation and impact of policies and standards
Developing and delivering compliance training and awareness programmes for relevant stakeholders
Recommending and implementing actions required to mitigate regulatory risks identified and producing high quality reports for senior management
Supporting regulatory risk assessments
Contributing to change management programmes and internal policy development as an subject matter expert
Developing relevant MI and ensure adequate reporting

Professional Experience
Previous experience in Regulatory Compliance / Business Line Compliance in financial services with an international client-base or comparable large corporate organisations (Required)
In-depth knowledge of applicable legislation and accompanying industry guidance (MAR, MiFID II, WpHG) and the ability to practically apply these in your day-to-day work (Required)
Previous experience in developing policies, and implementing and overseeing control frameworks (Preferred)
Education
Educated to Degree level in a relevant subject (Preferred)
External qualification in Compliance (Preferred)
Languages
English (Required)
German (Required)
Hard Skills
Knowledge of regulatory risks and how these are managed in Wholesale / Corporate and Investment Banking (Required)
Experience of using systems and software to analyse data (Required)
Knowledge of Wholesale / Corporate and Investment Banking products (Preferred)
Soft Skills
Excellent critical thinking, analytical and problem solving skills (Required)
Should show initiative, be organised and be able to plan and prioritise (Required)
Must have good communication, both written and verbal, and ability to make decisions and influence stakeholders (Required)
