Job Description

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Corporate Counsel based in Canada.

This role is a key legal position within a fast-paced, global technology environment focused on fraud prevention and financial compliance solutions. You will support commercial growth by drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a wide range of contracts while ensuring legal and regulatory alignment across multiple jurisdictions. The position involves close collaboration with Sales, Product, Partnerships, Procurement, and Engineering teams, helping translate complex legal requirements into practical business solutions. You will also provide guidance on data privacy, cybersecurity, and regulatory matters impacting SaaS and fintech products. This is a highly cross-functional and strategic role where your work directly enables scalable commercial operations and supports rapid business expansion. It is ideal for a pragmatic legal professional who thrives in dynamic, high-growth, and technology-driven environments.

Accountabilities:

    • Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements including SaaS contracts, NDAs, vendor agreements, and partnership arrangements.
    • Partner with Sales, Account Management, and Procurement teams to support deal structuring and contract negotiations.
    • Provide legal guidance on product development, marketing initiatives, and customer-facing materials.
    • Support the implementation and improvement of contract lifecycle management systems, templates, and legal playbooks.
    • Advise on regulatory, data privacy, and cybersecurity matters, including GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, GLBA, and related frameworks.
    • Monitor and respond to day-to-day legal inquiries from cross-functional business teams.
    • Contribute to special projects and continuous improvement initiatives within the legal and compliance function.
    • Requirements:

      • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school and active bar membership in at least one U.S. state or relevant jurisdiction.
      • 3–5 years of experience in a law firm or in-house legal environment, ideally within technology, SaaS, or fintech sectors.
      • Experience supporting commercial transactions and sales organizations in a fast-moving business environment.
      • Strong knowledge of contract law, commercial negotiations, and regulatory frameworks affecting data privacy and cybersecurity.
      • Ability to manage multiple priorities independently in a lean and high-growth organization.
      • Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills with a pragmatic, business-oriented mindset.
      • Comfort working under pressure and meeting tight deadlines in a dynamic environment.
      • Benefits:

        • Competitive compensation package including base salary and equity opportunities (approximately 120,000–145,000 CAD or 130,000–165,000 USD depending on location).
        • Remote-first work environment with flexibility to work from anywhere.
        • Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance coverage for employees and dependents.
        • Retirement savings plan with employer matching contributions (401k/RRSP depending on location).
        • Generous paid time off, including flexible vacation and year-end break.
        • Home office setup stipend and monthly allowances for meals and social activities.
        • Annual stipends for wellness and professional learning development.
        • Equity participation and early exercise options for long-term growth alignment.
