Job Description

Help protect the Boise River through the power of data. The City of Boise's Public Works Department is seeking an experienced Data Analyst III to transform complex environmental, operational and laboratory data into insights that support cleaner water, smarter infrastructure and a healthier community.

This role is ideal for a technically strong analyst who is motivated by public service and environmental impact. The Data Analyst III works with large and varied data sets from Public Works and water renewal operations, including lab and monitoring data related to water quality, phosphorus, temperature and other factors that help the department understand and protect river health. By building data models, developing reports and dashboards, analyzing trends and translating findings into practical recommendations, this position helps leaders make informed decisions that affect Boise’s natural resources and long-term sustainability.

The successful candidate will bring current, hands-on experience with SQL, Power BI or Tableau, data modeling, visualization and complex analysis. Just as important, they will bring curiosity, care and a community-minded approach to the work. This is a meaningful opportunity for someone who loves data, understands its power and wants to use it to help Boise continue to grow responsibly while protecting the river and community we share.
