Job Description

LEX Law Offices seeks an EEA & International Trade Lawyer to advise on Iceland's obligations under the EEA Agreement, trade sanctions, and customs regulations. This role involves working closely with government bodies and multinational clients navigating regulatory frameworks affecting Iceland's access to the European Single Market.

Responsibilities

Advise on compliance with EEA directives and regulations transposed into Icelandic law. Represent clients before the EFTA Court and EFTA Surveillance Authority. Draft opinions on trade sanctions, export controls, and customs tariff classifications. Support government agencies on treaty negotiations and bilateral trade agreements.

Requirements

LL.M. with specialisation in EU/EEA law or international trade. 7+ years of experience in EEA regulatory matters, trade compliance, or customs law. Experience with EFTA Court proceedings or EFTA Surveillance Authority matters preferred. Fluent in Icelandic and English.
