Job Description
Aurubis Bulgaria, one of the largest copper producers in Europe, is seeking an In-House Legal Counsel specializing in environmental and industrial law at its Pirdop facility. The role involves environmental permitting, health and safety compliance, and industrial regulation in the mining and metals sector. Responsibilities
Advising on environmental permits, monitoring obligations, and regulatory compliance; Managing IPPC/IED permit applications and renewals; Advising on waste management, emissions, and water discharge compliance; Supporting environmental impact assessments for facility expansions; Advising on health and safety regulatory requirements; Coordinating with environmental authorities and regulatory inspections; Supporting the company's sustainability and ESG reporting obligations.
Requirements
Master's degree in Law; 4-6 years of experience in environmental law, industrial regulation, or mining law; Knowledge of the Environmental Protection Act, Clean Air Act, Water Act, and Waste Management Act; Understanding of IPPC permitting and EIA procedures; Familiarity with occupational health and safety legislation; Fluent English and Bulgarian; Ability to work in an industrial environment.
