Junior Analyst (Legal/Economics) — Competition Commission Mauritius

The Competition Commission of Mauritius (CCM) seeks a Junior Analyst for its Research and Market Studies Division based at its satellite office in Quatre Bornes. The CCM is increasingly conducting sector-wide market studies to identify competition concerns in the Mauritian economy — and this role combines legal research with economic analysis to support the Commission's evidence-based approach to competition enforcement.

The Junior Analyst will research market dynamics, analyse pricing patterns, review industry submissions, and assist with the preparation of market study reports. The role provides an exceptional entry point into competition law and policy — a growing practice area in Mauritius and across the Indian Ocean region — with exposure to the Competition Act 2007, EU competition precedents, and practical economic analysis.

• Research market dynamics and competitive conditions in key Mauritian sectors
• Assist with the preparation of market study reports under the Competition Act 2007
• Analyse industry submissions and company data for merger review and investigations
• Draft research memoranda on competition law developments in Mauritius and internationally
• Support senior investigators with economic analysis and evidence gathering
• Attend industry consultations and stakeholder meetings

• Law degree (LL.B.) or economics degree from a recognised institution
• Interest in competition law, market regulation, and economic policy
• Basic knowledge of the Competition Act 2007 and competition law principles
• Analytical skills with ability to interpret data and market information
• Research and report-writing skills in English
• Fresh graduate or up to 2 years' professional experience
• French proficiency advantageous
