Job Description
OTP Banka Slovenija is seeking a Junior Legal Officer for our Debt Recovery team in Maribor. You will handle non-performing loan recovery, enforcement proceedings, and out-of-court debt collection for the bank's retail and corporate portfolio across the Štajerska and Koroška regions.
The role involves working with the Zakon o izvršbi in zavarovanju (ZIZ, Enforcement and Security Act), ZFPPIPP (Insolvency Act), and the Zakon o finančnem zavarovanju (ZFZ, Financial Collateral Act). Maribor, as Slovenia's second banking center, provides an excellent environment for building expertise in banking litigation and debt recovery.
Responsibilities
Manage debt recovery proceedings for non-performing loans, including out-of-court negotiation and court enforcement. Prepare enforcement applications under ZIZ for mortgage enforcement, salary garnishment, and account attachment. Represent the bank in insolvency proceedings as a creditor under ZFPPIPP. Negotiate debt settlement agreements and restructuring arrangements with borrowers. Monitor enforcement proceedings and coordinate with court-appointed enforcement officers.
Requirements
Magister prava from a recognized university. 1-2 years of experience in banking litigation, enforcement, or debt recovery. Knowledge of ZIZ (Enforcement and Security Act) and ZFPPIPP. Understanding of loan documentation and security instruments. Fluent in Slovenian; English proficiency preferred.
