Legal Analyst — Monetary Policy & Regulation

The Banco Central de Venezuela (BCV) is seeking a Legal Analyst for its Legal Advisory Department (Consultoría Jurídica) in Caracas. You will support the drafting and interpretation of monetary policy instruments, foreign exchange regulations, and central banking legislation.

Key Responsibilities

• Draft and review BCV resolutions, circulars, and regulatory instruments on monetary policy
• Provide legal opinions on foreign exchange regulations and currency controls
• Analyse the legal framework governing the Venezuelan financial system
• Advise on the BCV's institutional legal matters and inter-institutional agreements
• Research comparative central banking legislation for regulatory reform initiatives

• Draft legal memoranda and regulatory analysis for BCV management
• Participate in inter-institutional working groups on financial regulation
• Review draft legislation affecting the central banking framework
• Maintain the department's legal research database

• Law degree (Abogado) from a Venezuelan university; specialisation in Public Law or Financial Law preferred
• Registered with the Inpreabogado
• 3-5 years post-qualification experience in public law, financial regulation, or central banking
• Fluent in Spanish; English and French reading ability preferred
• Strong knowledge of the BCV Organic Law and Venezuelan monetary legislation
