Job Description

SUDEBAN (Superintendencia de las Instituciones del Sector Bancario) is seeking a Legal Counsel for its Banking Supervision Division in Caracas. You will provide legal support for the supervision and regulation of Venezuelan banking institutions.

Key Responsibilities

Provide legal support for on-site and off-site inspections of banking institutions
Draft regulatory resolutions, sanctions, and corrective measures for supervised entities
Advise on the interpretation and application of the Banking Sector Institutions Law
Review licence applications for new banking institutions and branch openings
Prepare legal opinions on banking regulation and supervision matters

Responsibilities

Support the Superintendent on regulatory enforcement actions
Draft administrative acts and regulatory communications
Coordinate with BCV and other regulators on supervisory matters
Review and process banking institution regulatory filings

Requirements

Law degree (Abogado) from a Venezuelan university
Registered with the Inpreabogado
3-6 years post-qualification experience in banking law, financial regulation, or administrative law
Fluent in Spanish; English proficiency an advantage
Knowledge of the Banking Sector Institutions Law and Venezuelan administrative procedure
