Job Description

Marel seeks a Legal Counsel specialising in intellectual property and R&D contracts to protect the company's innovation portfolio. You will manage patent filings, technology licensing, and research collaboration agreements supporting Marel's position as a global technology leader in food processing.

Responsibilities

Manage Marel's global patent portfolio including filing, prosecution, and maintenance. Draft and negotiate technology licensing, joint development, and research collaboration agreements. Advise on trade secret protection and employee invention policies. Handle IP disputes and infringement claims in coordination with external counsel.

Requirements

Cand.Jur. or LL.M. with IP or technology law specialisation. 4-6 years of experience in IP management, technology licensing, or R&D contracts. Experience with European Patent Office procedures and international patent prosecution. Fluent in English; Icelandic is beneficial.
