Job Description
Legal Researcher — Abu Dhabi Judicial Department
The Abu Dhabi Judicial Department (ADJD) is recruiting a Legal Researcher to support judges and prosecutors across Abu Dhabi's court system. Based at the main courthouse on Al Salam Street, Abu Dhabi, you will conduct legal research, draft judicial memoranda, and analyse comparative jurisprudence.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct legal research on UAE Federal laws, Abu Dhabi local laws, and relevant international legal principles
- Draft research memoranda and case summaries for judges of the Court of First Instance and Court of Appeal
- Analyse comparative jurisprudence from GCC courts, Egyptian courts, and French civil law jurisdictions
- Support the development of judicial guides and bench books on emerging legal topics
- Assist with the translation and interpretation of legal documents between Arabic and English
- Contribute to ADJD's digital transformation initiatives in court administration

Requirements
- Law degree from a recognised UAE or international university (LLB or equivalent)
- 2-4 years of legal research experience, preferably in a judicial or academic setting
- Strong knowledge of UAE civil law system and Federal legislation
- Bilingual fluency in Arabic and English — mandatory
- Research skills in legal databases (LexisNexis, Westlaw, Tamimi Law database)
- UAE nationals (Emiratis) strongly preferred in line with Emiratisation objectives
