Job Description

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a M&A Attorney based in India.

This role offers the opportunity to apply deep corporate legal expertise to the development of next-generation AI-powered legal solutions.
You will contribute your M&A knowledge to improve how artificial intelligence understands contracts, evaluates risks, and supports legal decision-making.
The position combines transactional law expertise, contract analysis, AI training, and legal innovation within a flexible remote environment.
You will work on complex M&A scenarios while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams focused on advancing legal technology.

Accountabilities:

    The M&A Attorney will leverage transactional legal expertise to evaluate AI-generated legal outputs, improve training data quality, and support the development of advanced legal technology solutions.

    • Perform simulated M&A negotiations, contract reviews, and redlining exercises across a range of transaction documents.
    • Review and assess AI-generated responses to M&A legal scenarios, providing detailed feedback to improve accuracy, reasoning, and legal relevance.
    • Develop evaluation frameworks, scoring methodologies, and quality standards for assessing AI performance on transactional legal tasks.
    • Analyze complex agreements to identify contractual risks, negotiation considerations, drafting improvements, and legal issues.
    • Provide subject matter expertise to improve AI systems focused on contract review, transaction analysis, and legal decision support.
    • Collaborate with product, research, and engineering teams to refine AI training datasets, legal guidelines, and best practices.
    • Translate practical legal judgment into structured feedback that can be used to enhance AI model performance.
    • Contribute insights on legal workflows, transactional processes, and technology opportunities within corporate law.
    • Requirements:

      The ideal candidate will have strong mergers and acquisitions experience, excellent legal analysis skills, and an interest in contributing to innovative legal technology solutions.

      • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an ABA-accredited law school.
      • Active bar membership in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
      • Minimum of 2 years of experience within a Mergers & Acquisitions practice group at a corporate law firm.
      • Strong experience with M&A transaction documents, including Asset Purchase Agreements (APAs) and Stock Purchase Agreements (SPAs).
      • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail.
      • Ability to analyze complex legal issues and translate expertise into clear, structured, and actionable feedback.
      • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
      • Demonstrated interest in legal innovation, artificial intelligence, and emerging technologies.
      • Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams in fast-paced environments.
      • Experience with AI tools, legal technology platforms, AI training projects, or legal evaluation processes is preferred.
      • Experience advising private equity firms or supporting private equity transactions is an advantage.
      • Familiarity with legal operations, contract lifecycle management (CLM) platforms, or enterprise legal technology solutions is a plus.
