Senior Associate — Banking & Finance

ASAR — Al Ruwayeh & Partners is seeking a Senior Associate to join its market-leading Banking & Finance practice in Sharq, Kuwait City. Based at our offices in Assima Tower, you will advise regional and international banks, investment companies, and sovereign wealth funds on complex financing transactions governed by Kuwaiti law.

Key Responsibilities

• Draft and negotiate syndicated loan agreements, Islamic finance facilities (murabaha, ijara, sukuk), and project finance documentation
• Advise on compliance with Central Bank of Kuwait regulations and Capital Markets Authority Law No. 7 of 2010
• Conduct due diligence on borrowers and security packages under Kuwait Commercial Code
• Coordinate with international counsel on cross-border financing structures across the GCC
• Represent clients before the Kuwait Commercial Court on banking disputes

Requirements

• LLB from a recognised university; LLM in Banking/Finance Law preferred
• Licensed by the Kuwait Bar Association (جمعية المحامين الكويتية)
• 5-8 years post-qualification experience in banking and finance law
• Fluent in Arabic and English (bilingual drafting essential)
• Experience with Islamic finance structures

• Syndicated loan and Islamic finance documentation
• CBK regulatory compliance
• Due diligence under Commercial Code
• Cross-border GCC transactions
• Banking dispute representation

• LLB from recognised university; LLM preferred
• Licensed by Kuwait Bar Association
• 5-8 years PQE in banking/finance
• Bilingual Arabic/English
• Islamic finance experience
