Senior Legal Counsel — Corporate & Agribusiness

CMI (Corporacion Multi Inversiones), one of Central America's largest conglomerates, is seeking a Senior Legal Counsel for its corporate headquarters in Guatemala City. You will provide legal support across CMI's diverse business portfolio, including agribusiness, energy, real estate, and restaurant operations across the region.

Key Responsibilities

• Advise CMI's business units on corporate governance, M&A, and joint ventures
• Manage cross-border transactions and regulatory approvals across Central America
• Draft and negotiate commercial contracts, supply agreements, and distribution arrangements
• Advise on agricultural regulatory compliance and land acquisition for agribusiness operations
• Coordinate with external counsel in multiple Central American jurisdictions

• Lead legal workstreams for strategic corporate transactions
• Manage a team of in-house lawyers across the conglomerate
• Develop legal risk management frameworks for business operations
• Report to the General Counsel on legal matters and risk

• Licenciatura en Ciencias Juridicas y Sociales; LLM or MBA preferred
• Colegiado activo with the Colegio de Abogados y Notarios de Guatemala
• 7-10 years post-qualification experience in corporate or commercial law
• Fluent in Spanish and English
• Experience with multi-jurisdictional Central American operations
