Job Description

Morgan & Morgan seeks a Senior Maritime Litigation Attorney to represent shipowners, charterers, and P&I clubs in disputes before the Tribunal Marítimo de Panamá. You will handle collision claims, cargo damage, and vessel arrest proceedings under the Código Marítimo. Panama registers more tonnage than any other flag state, making this a high-volume, internationally significant practice.

Responsibilities

Lead maritime dispute resolution before the Tribunal Marítimo. Draft and argue vessel arrest petitions and release motions. Advise on P&I club claims and hull insurance disputes. Represent clients in international arbitration under London or New York rules. Supervise junior attorneys and coordinate with foreign counsel.

Requirements

Licenciatura en Derecho from an accredited Panamanian university or recognized foreign equivalent. Admission to the Colegio Nacional de Abogados de Panamá. Minimum 7 years of maritime litigation experience. Fluency in Spanish and English required. Deep knowledge of the Código Marítimo and international maritime conventions (Hamburg Rules, Hague-Visby).
