Singapore has established itself as Asia's foremost legal hub, attracting international law firms and serving as the seat of choice for regional arbitration through the Singapore International Arbitration Centre (SIAC). The city-state's emphasis on rule of law, intellectual property protection, and its position as a gateway to Southeast Asian markets make it a magnet for legal talent. The Legal Services Regulatory Authority oversees one of the most well-regulated legal professions in the world.
Singapore is Asia's arbitration capital, with SIAC handling record caseloads and driving demand for dispute resolution specialists.

To become a lawyer in Singapore you need a recognised law degree and must qualify as a "qualified person." Graduates of approved overseas (scheduled) universities first sit Part A, the conversion examination, while local law graduates proceed directly. You then complete the Part B preparatory course and examinations administered by the Singapore Institute of Legal Education, after which you can be called to the Bar. To practise as an advocate and solicitor you must also complete a 12-month practice training contract along with ethics and advocacy requirements before the Supreme Court admits you and you obtain a practising certificate.
The Singapore Institute of Legal Education (SILE) administers the Bar Examinations and admission standards, the Supreme Court of Singapore formally admits advocates and solicitors, and the Law Society of Singapore regulates practising lawyers; the Legal Services Regulatory Authority (under the Ministry of Law) oversees the licensing of law practice entities.
