How to Become a Lawyer in Ethiopia

Ethiopia operates a civil law system. Here is the path to practising law.

Step 1: LLB (5 years)

  • Addis Ababa University — Most prestigious law school
  • Bahir Dar University — Strong programme
  • Hawassa University
  • Mekelle University
  • Several private universities also accredited

Step 2: Ethiopian Bar Association
