The Administracion Nacional de Combustibles, Alcoholes y Portland (ANCAP) is Uruguay's state-owned energy and cement company, created in 1931. ANCAP holds the national monopoly on petroleum refining and fuel distribution, operating the country's only oil refinery in the La Teja neighborhood of Montevideo with a capacity of 50,000 barrels per day. Headquartered at Paraguay 1598 in Centro, Montevideo, the company also produces Portland cement and has international operations in Argentina.
