Attorney General's Chambers Brunei

The Attorney General's Chambers (AGC) of Brunei Darussalam is the principal legal adviser to the Government of His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam. The AGC is responsible for drafting legislation, providing legal opinions to government ministries, conducting prosecutions, and representing the government in civil litigation. The Chambers also oversees the Syariah Prosecutors office and coordinates with the Syariah Courts on matters arising under the Syariah Penal Code Order 2013. The AGC plays a pivotal role in upholding the rule of law under Brunei's dual legal system of common law and Syariah law. Located in Bandar Seri Begawan, the AGC recruits qualified lawyers through the Legal Service under the Public Service Commission.
