The Autoridad del Canal de Panamá (ACP) is the autonomous government agency responsible for operating and managing the Panama Canal, one of the world's most strategically vital waterways handling 5% of global maritime trade. Headquartered in Balboa at the Pacific entrance of the Canal with approximately 9,000 employees, ACP employs a large legal division handling maritime law, international treaties, procurement, labor relations, environmental compliance, and concession agreements. The agency generates over USD 4 billion in annual revenue.
