About Autoridade da Concorrência (AdC)
The Autoridade da Concorrência (AdC) is Portugal's independent competition authority, headquartered at Avenida de Berna in Lisbon's Campo Pequeno district. Established under the Lei da Concorrência (Lei n.º 19/2012), the AdC enforces antitrust rules, reviews mergers and acquisitions, and promotes competition in the Portuguese market. The authority's legal professionals investigate anti-competitive agreements and abuses of dominant position, conduct dawn raids, impose fines, and represent the AdC before the Tribunal da Concorrência, Regulação e Supervisão in Santarém — Portugal's specialised competition court. The AdC cooperates closely with the European Commission and the European Competition Network (ECN) on cross-border cases and EU competition law enforcement.
