Bank of Tanzania

The Bank of Tanzania (BOT) is the central bank of the United Republic of Tanzania, established under the Bank of Tanzania Act of 1965 and commencing operations on 14 June 1966. Headquartered at 2 Mirambo Street in Dar es Salaam, BOT is responsible for issuing the national currency (Tanzanian Shilling), formulating monetary policy, supervising banks and financial institutions, and managing the country's foreign exchange reserves.
