Bank of Uganda

The Bank of Uganda (BoU) is the central bank of the Republic of Uganda, established in 1966. It is responsible for monetary policy, financial system stability, currency issuance, and regulation of financial institutions in Uganda. The Bank employs over 900 staff members across various departments including legal, compliance, financial markets, banking supervision, and research. BoU's Legal Department handles regulatory enforcement, contract management, litigation, and advisory services for the central bank's operations.
