The Corporacion Nacional del Cobre de Chile (Codelco) is the world's largest copper producer and a Chilean state-owned enterprise headquartered in Santiago. Codelco operates major mines including Chuquicamata, El Teniente, Radomiro Tomic, and Ministro Hales. The legal department manages mining concession rights under the Codigo de Mineria, environmental impact assessments before the Servicio de Evaluacion Ambiental (SEA), government procurement under Ley 19.886, international copper sales contracts, and labour relations with mining unions under the Codigo del Trabajo.
