About Conseil de la Concurrence du Maroc
Le Conseil de la Concurrence is Morocco's independent constitutional competition authority, established under Article 166 of the 2011 Constitution and governed by Loi n°20-13 relative au Conseil de la Concurrence and Loi n°104-12 sur la liberté des prix et de la concurrence. Headquartered in the Hay Riad district of Rabat, the Council ensures free and fair competition in Moroccan markets by investigating anti-competitive agreements, abuses of dominant position, reviewing merger notifications, and advising the government and parliament on economic regulation policy. The legal department plays a critical role in conducting sector inquiries, drafting enforcement decisions, representing the Council before the Chambre Administrative of the Cour de Cassation, and engaging in international cooperation with peer agencies including the European Commission and the International Competition Network (ICN). Legal professionals at the Conseil de la Concurrence work at the intersection of competition economics and law, analysing market dynamics across telecommunications, banking, pharmaceuticals, and agri-food sectors. The Council cooperates closely with the AMMC, Bank Al-Maghrib, and the Agence Nationale de Réglementation des Télécommunications (ANRT). Positions require strong analytical capabilities in French and Arabic.
