EDM - Electricidade de Mocambique

Mozambique's state-owned electricity utility, headquartered on Avenida Agostinho Neto in Maputo. EDM is responsible for the generation, transmission, distribution, and sale of electricity throughout the country. Formed in 1977 from 25 separate generation and distribution units, EDM manages the national grid including power from the Cahora Bassa hydroelectric dam. The utility's legal department handles energy regulation, power purchase agreements, infrastructure concessions, environmental compliance, land rights for transmission corridors, and public-private partnership frameworks for rural electrification.
