EP Petroecuador

Ecuador's national state-owned oil company, founded on 26 September 1989 and headquartered on Calle Alpallana in Quito. EP Petroecuador (Empresa Pública de Hidrocarburos del Ecuador) manages the exploration, production, refining, transportation, and commercialization of crude oil and petroleum derivatives. With approximately 5,000 employees, the legal department handles hydrocarbon contracts, environmental compliance, government affairs, international procurement, labour relations, and regulatory matters central to Ecuador's oil-dependent economy and sovereign revenue.
