About Financial Supervisory Authority (FIN-FSA)
The Financial Supervisory Authority (Finanssivalvonta, FIN-FSA) is Finland's financial regulatory authority, located at Snellmaninkatu 6 in Helsinki's Kruununhaka district, adjacent to the Bank of Finland. FIN-FSA supervises banks, insurance companies, investment firms, fund management companies, and the Helsinki Stock Exchange. With approximately 250 employees including a substantial team of lakimiehet, FIN-FSA enforces luottolaitoslaki (the Credit Institutions Act), vakuutusyhtiölaki (the Insurance Companies Act), and EU financial regulations including CRD/CRR, Solvency II, MiFID II, and the AML directives, functioning as a key node within the ECB's Single Supervisory Mechanism.
